The Loving Memory Of England

For those avid readers, its been a very long time since I posted anything, in fact the last time I updated this blog was when I left Kotor. I took a flight back home for a few days…

Not only was thing rather necessary, for my own sanity but actually quite nice to see family for the first time in about 9 months.

During my time back in England I helped build a fence which was really good fun. It was nice to be working to something productive again. It took almost 5 hours as we had to cement the posts in place and work out how to slide the panels in but at the end of the day (literally) it was erected.

The next day I went out with family to the Wildlife and Conservation Park at Askham Bryan. This too was a really good day, the three of us got to see Meerkats, a Skunk and absolutely loads more. The highlight for me was the feeding time for the Tapirs and the Wallabies as we got to see them up close.

It was a pretty packed weekend as the following day I went out with another member of my family and visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. In all honesty I wasn’t impressed with the first few rooms we visited as the sculptures were a bit too abstract (for me anyway). The structures in the gardens and the underground gallery were my favourites. Some of these reminded me of Star Wars and the Terminator films, and some were just amazingly constructed.

Anyone else see a Terminator resemblance?

Looks like the set of Star Wars.

This was fascinating to look at due to the difficulty it must’ve taken to build.

After spending a few days back home I knew I had to get back on the road again, I didn’t want to feel sluggish so I got proactive and checked out flights back to the Balkans. Turns out, the best deal was actually straight back to Kotor, so I headed back.
